It is made of PE wicker rattan which is very weather resistant.
There is no tab or locking machanism on the top but don't worry, the top doesn't slide off easily.
Attractive and closest to my wicker patio furniture I could find. Ignore the dust in my picture. It’s not weatherproof, as the open weaving and handle holes in the base and lid allow water, dust, and insects to penetrate. The handle holes do make it easy to carry either though. They added removable clips to help secure the lid if you want to use them. The clips utilize the handle holes in the top and base. My picture has one clip in the back that acts like a hinge.
Just what I wanted. I would suggest that strengthen the top. Hard to set a drink securely on top.
Pretty sturdy ..decent weight i wish the top fit over the side just a bit. But overall its good
